Mine arrived today (21 days early if I believed Moto's estimate). Black front, bamboo back, red accents. I snapped most of these with the setting sunlight in order to display the true colors. The bamboo looks absolutely gorgeous and actually provides just a slight bit of grip that feels just right to me. The red looks good (the one pic of the front makes them look a bit garish but they are more sedate than that). The engraving is obviously grooved while the carrier logo is simply stamped. The metal looks FAR better than I expected. I thought it would be darker with the black front but it has just enough silvery color to it to really make it look premium. And it feels absolutely stellar to hold this thing. I'm VERY happy so far!

Sorry about the wallpaper. I should have changed it to the stock wallpaper for better color representation.
Speaking of which, the custom wallpaper I selected on Motomaker was NOT included on the device when delivered. Not a dealbreaker by any means but I think someone forgot a step at the factory.

Back is Smoke, trim is silver, front is black. I engraved =CH= on the back. My initials.

Can you post more pictures? I'm really thinking about going Black front with smoke back
Can you tell me how you like the color combo in person? Trying to pull the trigger on white front black back (plastic though).
Post some pics if its not too much trouble. I'm considering that back cover and curious how it will look.

On the white face, the 4 IR sensors are little circles which look blue-ish. Definitely a busier looking face than the white face on the 2013 Moto X. They're not noticible on the black face.
Honestly, if you had your heart set on white, once the phone is a week or two old, you tend to overlook that kind of stuff.

I actually prefer the look of the white with the sensors noticeable. I thought the 2013 white front was hideous, because it was just too much white with face and trim and nothing breaking it up besides the earpiece and camera at the top. The new white front looks damn good to me because you have those sensors breaking up the monotone, the colored accent pieces, and the silver trim instead of the white trim. It's not as overpowering as last years.

There's really not a whole lot of bezel on the 2013 model to break up. I thought it looked fine except that the glass could make it look a bit grayish in some lighting/angles.
The 2014 model bezels might be proportionally narrower, but I bet there's more area to break up due to being larger!

How's that case working out? I saw it and thought it looked good, but does it offer decent protection?

It's a pretty minimal case, doesn't add much bulk to the phone. Covers the back well with hard polycarbonate and a TPU edge that wraps the screen. The edge gives about a 1mm lip to keep the screen off surfaces if laid face down. It offers a good grip and I like it pretty well. I wouldn't expect a lot of protection with it for any kind of bad drop. Fit and finish are good and the price is very reasonable.
