FYI, my shipping said 12 days and it only took 5 from when I placed the order to when it arrived at my house yesterday.

That's what I'm hoping for. A lot of people have posted that they received the phone before the email saying it had shipped. Also, I live in North Texas, so if it's one of the last assembled here I may get it sooner.

I got it Thursday and don't know whether to send it back or not. I'm not happy about the case situation. The one I got is translucent and it looks like there are no real clear cases out there. I'm paranoid about ruining it. Sure enough, my 2nd day of owning it I dropped it and it fell in a small puddle. Thankfully, the leather didn't stain and returned back to normal, but I'm wondering if I really want to worry about this. One of the reasons I chose a Moto X over the iPhone was because it is not fragile :-\ .

If I do send it back, it will probably be for Slate-black-black, or slate-bronze-black.

Did you keep yours, or did you exchange it? Also, when did you place your order? Thanks in advance!

I absolutely LOVE the bamboo back. I dismissed it as a hokie gimmick when it was announced with the OG X but I'm glad I got it on the 2014 model. It looks great, it wears perfectly (no case here, not a single blemish on it yet) and it gets a lot of compliments. More than one person has said they really like my case and then are even more dazzled when they find out it's the actual back of the phone.

jephanie: Thanks for the feedback on how bamboo is wearing. Gonna make the jump from Nexus 4 to Moto X today. How is the grip on bamboo, especially compared to Nexus 4? Thinking: black/bamboo/dark metal trim. No case!

Well, I never spent much time without a case on either, but naked the bamboo is much grippier than the nexus 4. The nexus might have been the slipperiest device I've ever held. If it wasn't on a perfectly level plane, it'd start sliding lol.

I have a supcase with a semi clear back on the moto x. Can see the bamboo very clearly so the only thing I'm missing is the feel.

Color me jealous! I ordered the same configuration on 12/1 with a estimated delivery of 12/10 and still no phone or shipping notice. I've been told it was the earbuds in the order, though, that is delaying mine but I wish it would have told me that when I was ordering. I'd have removed them, for sure.

Unless I find a way to buy the OnePlus One, the object I'm selling to buy my phone sells for $700 or the 64GB Nexus 6 drops to $399 off contract (none of which are likely), I'm getting a 32GB Moto X. I'm thinking this:

Black front, Black Leather back, Red trim. I can't wait to see how people react when they realize my phone's real leather instead of the usual plastic, faux leather or aluminum.

Also, thanks for dropping the off-contract price by $100, Moto.

Sorry you're having to wait. The only accessory I ordered was the turbo charger.

I've had amoleds before so I understand the "screen door effect". But im a fan of over saturated amoled colors. I think most people are and just don't want to admit it. I find a lot of LCD panels to look washed out and bland after looking at an amoled.

The only things the HTC bested the X on display wise were whiter whites, and brightness. But given the choice I'd choose the x any day.

Thanks for the feedback, chris20nyy. I managed to never drop my Nexus 4 so (knock on bamboo), so here's hoping I do OK with the Moto X!
