Moto X 2014 Help?

When ever I touch the phone or it moves the screen lights up showing the clock... Is there a way to turn this off? I don't need the screen constantly turning on when I'm at work driving around in a pick or piece of equipment.. Thanks

Moto app. Hit the gear icon upper right corner. Display. Uncheck: Moto Display.

Remember, the MX only turns on the pixels that are lit up, not the whole screen. Battery won't suffer much from this.
