Moto X (2014) Pre-Order

I just within the last 30 minutes tried to order the pure edition 32GB and it would not allow me. Gives me the following: "The 32GB option and the selected front color is not available for T-Mobile at this time. Please change your selection." I admit I'm not on T-Mobile but AT&T, why should that matter if it's unlocked and GSM?

It comes with a t mobile SIM. It is unlocked and your ATT nano SIM will work fine.

I have a 16GB Pure Edition with black front, black back, and silver accents ordered. I had considered the 32GB version but I never really put much on my phone and the delivery date was 17 days longer. I'm thinking I'll be more than happy with my choice.

The .EDU discount worked on the 32gig model for me. Had a friend with an account so it worked out great!

Re: Pre-orders will start on Tuesday. Who's ordering

I'm going to save myself the trouble and just wait until it hits stores.

Anyone know when that is by any chance?

Re: Pre-orders will start on Tuesday. Who's ordering

I may skip the damn thing altogether. As I am in Canada, and a US friend is trying to do the deal for me, there is only so much I can rely on his goodwill to get this done. I think Motorola has done a horrible job in looking after it's most enthusiastic customers. I wonder how many lost sales they have from people just throwing in the towel. We tried for a couple of hours and couldn't make it work.

If I didn't hate Samsung so much, the Note 4 would be looking pretty good right now. Maybe just a used Moto x (2013) for now. I really didn't think they'd make such a PITA out of the process.

Re: Pre-orders will start on Tuesday. Who's ordering

I see a lot of posts in saving sites like slickdeals.net about the new Moto X before the preorder even started, the sites also posted how to get the $50 off promo code, which is fine. But I'm willing to bet it brought in a lot of traffic from those who didn't even anticipated the phone or even know about it and saw that the $450 price was good. Even though I was ready for it my order never went through because of so many server bugs (they still haven't fixed the credit card bug). If they knew they couldn't handle the traffic they probably should have given some of the loyal customers like ones who ordered the previous X to have a chance first. Now that front black panel is out of stock which I don't even find acceptable in this case, can't do anything but wait.

Keep trying. It seems people have had success getting the black front after initially getting the message that it's out of stock. Obviously something wonky is happening in their back end.

Order placed. 32GB black with bamboo back. Estimated delivery on Sep 26th

$50 .edu credit didn't work and the 16GB is not available for 22 days, so went with the 32 instead.

CORRECTED - The edu discount credit does appear to work on the 32GB since it accepted it the 2nd time. I'll have to try contact support to have them adjust my existing order.
Were you able to get the discount applied to your order?

No, I don't know what happened, but it wouldn't initially take the code. About an hour later I went back in and put another X in my cart and it accepted it. I have submitted an email to Moto support to find out if I can get the credit retro applied.

This is the most difficult process yet. I'm an AT&T sucker and I'm trying to upgrade for which I am eligible for.
I go through the customization process and there is a cost of $124 in the Summary Cart.
Plus they want my credit card info.
I might be older and slower but I never paid a portion of any of my past upgrade phones to the specific OEM.
Maybe I'm not understanding the process.
Please advise if you can help an old guy out.

You're paying on site because transaction is processed through Moto and motomaker. It's the same as paying At&t got all intents and purposes.

FINALLY got my order through last night. Been trying to order a black front, black leather, gold accent 32GB Pure Edition since launch day. It kept giving me errors until yesterday. The wait for delivery in October begins.

I got my order in this morning. I was going to go with the black leather but decided to go with black plastic. For $50 I'd rather have the 32GB model and I am trying to keep my phone relatively cheap.
