Moto X 2014 What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Previous device was a Droid Ultra. Not really missing too much! Nope. Not missing anything!

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Ditto...except the colors on mine are over saturated as is typical for AMOLED. The M7 LCD was nicer and subjectively much more accurate. I'll happy keep the compromise though in exchange for Active Display & notifications. Totally worth it.

I'm also impressed with the sound quality. The jack, speaker and BT outputs all seem to have better clarity than the M7 (again subjective and probably weighted with a hint of "fresh purchase" bias. XD ).

The earphones are horrific though.

I literally had to toss them in the bin when I landed from a flight and suffered throughout the whole journey with them.

The HTC One earphones, on the other hand, are pretty good for stock.

Previous devices were Iphone 5s', a 32 and 64.

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

congratulations.

you have taken your first step into a larger world.

Lol, and before the iPhones, a G2 and Optimus G Pro. A phone wh0re I am. Obi Wan would be proud.

I miss Zoe on my HTC One M7. I know they have the app now, but, is not the same as the in phone app. I also miss the flat screen. Not digging the rounded corners on the X because it's difficult to cover the whole screen with a screen protector.

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Honeymoon is over and I'm going back to my previous Moto X. The thing I really missed about the old phone is its size, much more portable, palmable and I don't have to gingerly hold onto the phone like the new one. I initiated the moto refund today and what I'll miss from the new X:
1. More informative active notifications
2. Customizable OK Google Now phrase
3. Touchless IR sensors.
4. 5.2" display
:'(

The question now, will you regret returning it?

I didn't even know that it came with earphones. I would've tossed them without even trying them!

Sent from my Moto X

I'm going to miss it sure but I may come back to this version of the X down the road. I paid $618 for this X and it is no longer the bargain phone that was the case with the first X. If Moto begins to drop the price once sales levels off I may reconsider it.

HTC One M8, will miss these stereo speakers and my 128gb microsd card full of tv/movies/music/photos

Mine didn't...checked the box again just to be sure. I use an older set of ultimate ears buds and they sound fantastic playing off the X. (Sorry for going OT)

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

I had an HTC 8x. I miss the integrated visual voicemail and people hub on windows phone. I was surprised to find out I had to download a visual voicemail app for my carrier. It works, but the UI doesn't match the rest of the phone.

That said, I love the new Moto X so far (I received it a few days ago). I also have the LG G Pad google play edition tablet and the interface is very familiar.

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

I dig the active display and all, but I am going to miss the LED light on my N5

You won't. I promise you - you won't. I thought I would miss having an LED light when I went to the first Moto X and once I saw all the benefits of active display I never looked back. Kind of like when I dropped having a land line years ago. I thought I'd miss it but never have.

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Previous device: HTC Aria.

There's really not much to miss, considering its about to be a 5 year old phone. But, I will really miss the FM radio. I would get the G if I didn't hold on to my phones so long, so I want the best I can possibly get at the moment. I used FM radio a lot while riding my bike and working out. Now I'm going to have to load a pretty decent sized library of music on the phone.

I still can't understand how inferior models get apps and hardware like expandable storage and stereo speakers that the flagship doesn't. Is there anything a Ford Fusion doesn't offer that a Ford Fiesta does?

Have you heard of TuneIn or iHeart radio apps? I'm assuming you preferred FM antenna bc it doesn't ring up data costs... But thought I'd mention just in case you can stream they those apps :)

I'm currently on a Samsung G S4 running CM11, on Verizon going to AT&T moto X hopefully soon. I'm going to miss the notification light, SD card, and Replaceable battery, I hope my usage can hold up with the non replaceable battery

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

Currently using an iPhone 5S. When mine arrives I'll miss the music app on the iPhone and Touch ID but I'll manage just fine. The touch ID is legit though....

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

I'm coming from a GS5 and before that an LG G2. Only thing I know I will miss is Qi charging. Eventually I might find I miss the water resistant nature of the GS5.

So far though, just the ergonomics of the Moto X make it seem like a worthy replacement.

Yes I have. But like you mentioned, the FM transmitter didn't rack up the data and I can't strap a McDonalds to my back for the wifi :'(

Not much to miss from my Thunderbolt - I will say it has been somewhat durable.

However not to disappoint the members of this thread, what I will miss (temporarily) is voice+data..

You know, such as when someone you know is calling you while you're already on a call with someone else, so you whatsapp that person you know back that you'll call them back soon cuz you're currently on a call.
(could I make that sound more confusing lol)

Re: What was your previous device and what is that one feature/feature's...

my nexus 5 was lighter and easier to use one handed. it also ran a lot smoother than my moto x 2nd gen that i have now. idk why but my moto x is not as fluid. some games that played perfectly and smooth on my nexus 5 is now stuttery and laggy on my moto x :( i am a little underwhelmed when using my moto but i do like to stare at the beautiful ebony back i have on it.
