Moto X 2nd Gen Pure Edition XT1095 Rooted - OTA

I have a rooted Moto X 2nd Gen Pure Edition XT1095, currently running 5.0, version 22.21.11. I just got the notification for OTA to 5.1.

Will I run into any problems using the OTA with root? Is there a way to get 5.1 with root?

The OTA will fail if you are currently rooted. You need a completely stock system. You can try unrooting via supersu, but if you inadvertently changed anything else on the system partition, the OTA will fail.

I would suggest flashing the stock system partition with fastboot. Then the OTA will work for sure. This is assuming of course, that everything else on your phone is stock, so no TWRP, etc.

You can root 5.1 again just like you did 5.0 after you update.

Thanks for the reply! Do you know where I can get the zip files to flash? I'm coming over from a rooted OnePlus One and the new files were always linked in the forums, but I haven't found a good source for the Moto X yet.
