I just watched a hands on clip on YouTube featuring the new Nexus 6 and the reviewer (The Verge) made mention of the camera being much better than past Motorola cameras.

The Nexus 6 is told to house the same 13mp camera as the Moto X 2014. So that being said, will we see an update to the Moro's camera software that will bring these improvements? Or are we S.O.O.L?

Is that definite? Where can I find that info?
It is definite, see here. The Moto X use the Exmor135, while the Nexus use Exmor214.

I don't know what the engineering diff are, but I've used both of these. The OnePlus have the same sensor as the Nexus 6 and I get excellent results during daylight and average for lowlight, despite lacking OIS. Here are photos samples of the OnePlus, I really like the 4K video quality too.

But this is all going to be down to post processing technology which make a huge difference. I am a lot more confident of the N6 camera than the X, but I'm not sure I want to buy the N6 anytime soon until the price drop.

I am happy with the camera. To me more so than the OPO. Less blur. Couldn't get the OPO to take many crystal clear photos, when it did they were awesome. The Moto X has taken some great photos for me.
