Moto X Pure Edition vs. Nexus 6

The Nexus 6 was nice, but it was huge, I really don't need a 6" phone, and the battery life was not that great while I had it. The upcoming Moto X Pure, waiting for them to get into users hands before I decide on that or a Nexus.

I keep waffling back and forth on this decision between the clearance Nexus 6 or the Moto X Pure. It seems like it's a coin flip from everything I've seen. Is that a pretty accurate statement?

Yea it was hard to make a decision for me too but moto x pure 64gb was $499 and nexus 6 64gb was $399 so I ordered moto x pure. We'll see if moto x pure is better than nexus 6.

Quite the quandary...

One day after ordering my Moto X pure 32G ($449 Motorola) I discovered the rather insane $349 Amazon deal on the Nexus 6 32. Knowing that my Moto X Pure would not arrive for 2-3 weeks and that the Nexus would arrive next day, I dove in and got the Nexus 6. I'm really liking the N6 so far. As an owner of Droid Maxx, I already miss the Moto enhancements but don't miss any of the Verizon bloatware (let alone the lack of that device ever being updated to L). I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) so I've really come to appreciate L when it works well - 5.1.1). Battery life on the N6 is less than stellar (hopefully it will get better after a few cycles) but the fast charge is really sweet. I've loved wireless charging with the Droid and even though the N6 has it, I find myself using fast charge USB much more often (except overnight but then I've got 2 other devices vying for my 2 Qi chargers...). Hoping I can find a case for the N6 that does not add much width cause it's mighty wide and a bit slippery... but I digress.

I'll most likely be keeping both new phones. One (most likely Moto X) will get attached to my Verizon grandfathered unlimited data plan and the N6 will piggyback on the wife's ATT mobile share ($25 mo) or I'll give project Fi a try. For reference (Google 'moto-x-pure-edition-project-fi') it does not appear the the Moto X will ever fully function with project Fi...

Oh and I just got notified that the Moto X will be here on 9.17 instead of 10.1 as was originally indicated. I'll report back once I have both shiny new toys in hand...

I'm hoping to sell my Nexus 6 and get the Moto X pure on Amazon. I heard the screen is not as bright in sunlight but I like all the other pluses about the MXPE.

Nexus 6 has an AMOLED screen. Moto X Pure Edition has an LCD screen. LCD is easier to see in sunlight than AMOLED.
