Moto X4 showing software up to date

Hi i just bought a new X4, it comes with 8.0 and after a few security patch updates it says system is up to date even though 8.1 should be available for it.
Here is the below screenshot and it is an unlocked X4 6gb/64gb regular (not Android One).
Why is the update not showing for my phone?

If it updated today, it's up to date for at least 24 hours. After that? You may eventually get 8.1, or you may get 9.0 first.

Yeah, that's a bit strange. Some X4 models have received Pie already, you should get, at least, the 8.1 version. What channel do you have in settings - system - about phone?

Try connecting to a WiFi network and check for updates in the next 24 hours.

Software Channel is retin and software still showing up to date.

Mmmm, strange. Retbr (Brazil) already got Pie and I think the same happened with Indian models.

The Android One Variant has received Pie, for I have one as do a couple of my friends. I cannot speak for the non-Android variant.

Just an update. I checked for update again and voila this time Pie update was available to download and install.

Variants can be on different update paths/cycles.

My (UK unlocked - purchased direct from Moto) X4 has this version to this date. [8.0.0 - 1st October 2018 security - version OPWS27.2.5

Would be very nice to get the Pie update - I'm not particularly interested in trying to force it on - as there are a few things in the OS that would make life better...

Anyone with any ideas about timing of this??
