Motorla XOOM and ATRIX 4G sales are ‘disappointing,’ analyst claims | BGR

1. Xoom too expensive when you have iPad competition, Motorola is stupid for selling it at such high prices. Sell at a loss initially to get them out there..and then you've got people hooked. Once hooked, you can sell your next model at these absurd prices.

2. Atrix "4G".. Faux G more like it. This device would have exploded into one of the best devices out had it been on Verizon 4G.

There. Xoom is too expensive and people dont like buying a 4G device and not seeing ANYWHERE near 4G speeds.

Agreed, AT&T screwed the pooch. Big time. You give the idiots gold and they don't know what to do with it. I really wonder what goes on in their meetings, something like "Waaaah iPhone on verizon, what shall we do? Make everyone buy into a new 2 year! That'll get em! What is this atrix crap? Get it out of my face. In fact, cripple it so more people will buy our iPhones, then maybe Jobs will still love us."

At&t can't even advertise it right, nobody cares about the laptop dock that much. Let people know exactly how the Atrix is the beast it is.

I have been wondering why AT&T focuses on a laptop dock more than the phone itself. I have a laptop that is capable of doing much more than the Atrix. I don't believe many business people would find the Atrix to be a suitable replacement for a laptop for any reason. And let's not forget that absurd price tag on the dock itself...

Verizon advertises the Droid's as being manly, cool, with guns/lasers/robots/explosions.

AT&T advertises it as just a phone that is "4G" and can't even hit 4G speeds.

I took the SIM chip from my Atrix and popped it into my year old Dell Streak.. got like 2x the speeds in both dl and ul.

This is why you never gloat about your product before it is even out. There was so much promise and I was so excited to get this once I heard about it and saw the specs but moto managed to screw it up somehow. I'm not saying the xoom is a failure and I'm sure there are people that love their xoom but I still don't get the following

1.Why do they still have the most expensive android tablet in the market? Do they not realize the ipad2 sells for 499? and their entry level xoom is 599?
2. Come this summer, there will be so much competition at xoom specs that they will have no choice but to drop the price/release a 16gb version quickly
3. I don't think they have benefited from being 1st to maket (especially since there are still so few xoom apps) and they really do not have any differentiating factors

I actually think the android winners will be
Samsung (having thinnest tab/8.9version)
Asus (keyboard dock for 149-hear that moto!!!! and tab at 399-killer price)
HTC Evo view for having a unique pen interface (if they come out at 399, it will be the best 7" tablet period and they will sell TONS)

That was a damn good teaser though.

Yes.. when I saw that teaser I wanted a Xoom.. but now I dont.. Some companies simply can't market.

Motorola is so smug.. It's us consumers that have brought it back from the brink of destruction and it's us consumers that can put it back to where it was.

The Xoom maybe selling a bit slow, not a big hit but not a flop either, but I never heard of the Atrix even selling slow. Just Apple fanboi fud.
