Move video from internal storage to sd card

It would seem like an easy thing to do but I'm trying to move a video from the internal storage to the removable storage and it says and I get this blue and white card that comes up when I try to move the video...grant access to removable storage ...go to the overflow menu ...which I can't find can somebody help me...how can I move files from phone storage to sdcard... thanks

What are you using to move the file? The overflow menu is the 3-vertical-dot menu button that is usually in the upper right corner.

Sorry it's ES file explorer...I checked upper right corner.. Not there on that app...I also looked at the file app that came with the phone... Not there either... This is the unlocked US model on 7.0

What if you go to Settings>Apps, select the ES File Explorer, then Permissions, and look for an SD permission there?

Use the HTC file manager. It already has rights.


Edit: I may have been thinking about the Samsung file manager...

Thanks... Went there and looked but there's only the permission to read the SD card but not to modify it

Yea...I tried with the file explorer that came with the phone and no luck...

The card isn't formatted as Internal Storage, is it?

No... It's normal SD card set up.

Also, can you show us a screenshot of that message telling you to grant access? I just want to see exactly what it says.

I wish I could... Right now I have a Mac book air which I'll still trying to figure out how to get it to see my HTC 10.. Which is a problem for another day...

In that screenshot, the underlying app has the overflow menu button at the upper right. So what happens when you tap that -- do you see "Show SD Cards"?

Thanks for asking... The problem is there is no overflow in the menu with the three dots... I can't find that.. oh well what to do?

What I mean is that in the screenshot of the File Manager, there's an overflow menu at the upper right, right next to the search icon. Get out of that popup window, tap that overflow menu button, and see if Show SD Cards is an option in the menu that appears.

I got what you mean... But where is the overflow menu?( After I close that blue box I'll still in the file app) how do I find the overflow menu to select what there saying? As I understand it.. It's saying to Grand access to removable storage go to the overflow menu... Wherever that is?

The 3 vertical dot button is the overflow menu button. The menu that appears when you tap the 3 vertical dots is the overflow menu, and should include a Show SD Cards option.



Back out of that superimposed window so that you can tap the button.

Hey man... Thanks for taking the time... This what comes up when I back out of the blue box and I got the three dots.
