I put a couple movies on my Nexus 7. They look pretty good but the volume doesnt go loud enough. I am using MX Player. I am converting them with Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate.

Dice player let's you up the volume in addition to the buttons. Give it a try.

The volume on MX Player can be increased by dragging your finger up on the right side of the screen.

FWIW, the Nexus 7's speaker kinda sucks. You're better off listening to movies through headphones or ear buds.

On MX Player, I think volume can go higher if you use the Software Decoder for audio.

+1

Tap the HW top right and switch to SW. Doubles the volune, but not only are the speakers not loud, their also fragile...

Just in case, same action on the left is brightness, and across the top is fast forward/reverse....

Great, thanks to all who helped. Software decoder did the trick plus finding the volume control on the right.

You can also select H/W + decoder to get the extended volume adjustment.

Alternatively at the conversion stage, if you use Handbrake for conversion go to the audio settings and adjust the 'Gain' setting to '10'. Found this to be the standard gain increase for optimum volume on the Nexus 7.
