I'll have to do that when my P6 arrives as I have a Pixel 4a with Google Fi. I believe I just have to sign in on the new phone, and possibly sign out on the 4a. I'll know next week.

Yeah that's pretty much how it works. You will be asked when setting up the new phone if you want to deactivate Fi on the old phone.

It's probably different for each carrier. I know that with Mint Mobile, you can request them to send you a new eSim via email, through the app.

I'm in the same situation, but I have to move my account from Sprint to Tmobile. Sucks I need to make an in store appointment. The only thig worse than going to a car dealership is going to a carrier branded phone store for technical support....:'(
