Moving files (music) to my phone

I just got me a One yesterday and I'm ready to move music to the phone. I have it plugged in via usb (on a Macbook), but the computer doesn't see it. I downloaded the HTC Sync Manager, that also doesn't see the phone. In other phones you have to make a choice of charging/file transfer/etc, but I do not see this. I'm used to Samsung phones, so this is a bit different for me. I"m running 4.4.2 and Sense is 5.5.

What should I be doing?

Figured out my own problem. I used a different USB cable. Transferring music files is a little bit painful.....not simple.

EDIT: Is there an easier way to do this? the HTC Sync Manager is a disaster for me, I think I have the same playlist of songs like 5 times...., nothing in the tool I can find on the phone?

Are the songs on iTunes or are they physical files?

Maybe you can try WiFi File Transfer.

You can upload files wirelessly to your phone.

Install it on your phone and open it up. Press the start button, and it will display an IP address (i.e http://10.0.0.3:1234).

Type what you see on your computer in a browser, and you should be able to see content inside your phone, and upload content as well.
