Hello, I need help navigating switching away from Verizon. The instructions from Google on how to move to Fi couldn't be clearer, but there's next to nothing (or conflicting information) online about how to get away from Verizon. Lots of horror stories...
Contract End Date: 1/11/2017
"Last" Billing Period: 12/11/2016-1/10/2017
Given these two pieces of information, I've got several questions-
Can I port over to Fi and cancel Verizon service on 1/11/17 without paying ETF or do I have to wait until 1/12?
If I cancel on 1/11 or 1/12, do I have to pay for 1 or 2 days of service, or do I have to pay for the entire billing period from 1/11 to 2/10?
If I have to pay for the entire billing period, how much would it cost me to end service on or before 1/10 and pay the ETF in the final month of service (24th month) instead?
I'm trying to do this the cheapest way possible. It didn't sound to me like Verizon prorates your final billing period when you leave, and their SA pretty clearly states that. What I'm confused about is if it is safe to port the phone number ON 1/11 or if I have to wait until after, and if the ETF would cost less than an extra full month of service.
Thanks for any help people can provide!
