Multi-tasking "feature" affecting Handcent?

It appears that if I try to send a message through Handcent and immediately exit the app, nine times out of ten the message never goes out. If I go back in the little "ring of death" spins next to the message until I delete it.

Anyone else notice this? It's extremely annoying to have to site there and make sure each message sends when I would rather carry on doing something else. I'm only guessing that this faux multi-tasking thing is either suspending or closing the app and thus it doesn't finish sending the message. Never saw anything like this on the OG Evo or the 3D.

I'm going to switch to the stock app for the time being to see if it's more reliable. At first I thought it was a network issue, but as I said before it seems messages go through correctly if I leave Handcent on the screen.

I'm using Google voice so I haven't noticed any issues like that. I send/receive MMS with Handcent still so maybe I'll give it a try and see what happens.

I haven't seen that issue, and I usually drop out of hand cent when I send a text to do something else..

Mines doing it even when I don't exit out of Handcent. I just got the new EVO 4G LTE and it didn't do this on my EVO 3D but I'll send a message and sometimes it sends quick and sometimes the circle just spins and spins and ten minutes later it's still spinning and the person isn't getting my message. I don't know if it's a signal problem Handcent and ice Cream or what. I don't have LTE where I live so my phone is on Sprint CDMA only. But I used Handcent on both of my previous EVO's and never had htis problem. And people are not getting my messages when the circle stays spinning. Today I was using the regular messaging and it was sending right away so I don't think it's a signal problem don't know. But I like Handcent cause of the different colored envelopes for people and there own notification sound. Maybe I'll try Go SMS if this continues.

Hmm. I use GoSMS pro. I haven't seen this, I think. That may be why my girlfriend says she never got a text that I had sent her. I just assumed she was lying because I saw no error notification in the app.

I stopped using Handcent around the same time that I got the Evo 3D. I think GoSMS pro looks better, has more features and is more reliable.

I second GoSMS Pro ... I just noticed the voice recorded feature about a week ago and now use it daily when driving.
