Using the stock Music app that came with the Photon 4G and it stops playback approximately 20 seconds after the screen turns off. The playback actually pauses.
I've done some extensive searching on Music stopping playback when the screen turns off and have found dozens of posts about settings, task managers, widgets, and apps that have caused the problem. I have checked everything I found online and nothing is resolving my issue.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Navigate to music app
2) Click on Internet Radio
3) Navigate to any radio stations and begin playing music
4) At this point, either use the power button to turn the screen off or wait for it to turn off based on settings. My setting is 2 minutes
5) Wait approximately 20 seconds and music will stop
6) Use power button to turn screen on
7) Use lock screen controls to unpause and play music again
8) Wait approximately 20 seconds and music will stop
9) Repeat steps 7 & 8 to reproduce issue consistently
Please note:
I do not have any apps in the Auto-End list in the Task Manager
I have not downloaded any other Task Managers or Task Killers
I have not downloaded or installed any widgets related to Screen locking or task management
I have not rooted the device
I have checked the Battery Saver settings and they are off
Battery Mode is currently at Performance Mode
My Wi-Fi sleep policy is set to 'Never'
I'm aware of the development setting to have the screen always on when plugged in
I'm aware of applications that will keep the screen always on
My goal:
I want to be able to play music with the screen off without having to have the device plugged in.
In looking at the battery usage statistics on my phone the display utilizes approximately 40%-45% of the battery, so if I can play music with the display off that is ideal. I don't want to have to have the device plugged in all the time and have the screen on all the time.
I must be missing something...and it's probably going to be something simple. I've read other posts where users have stated this works perfectly fine for them.
This is drive me crazy. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
