Music Sound Quality

I mentioned it in another thread.
I did the T-Mobile Test Drive a couple weeks back. They gave me an iPhone for the trial.
I have an Auxiliary jack in my CRV.
One thing I noticed was how much better the sound was on the iPhone over my Note 2.
Is there something listed in the specs to look for to know if one device is designed to put out better sound than another?

The only thing so far is that it is 1.5x louder and has better base response than the GS5.
