Mute start up sound

Is there any way to silence or at least reduce the volume of the start up splash screen?

Ugh, one of my huge pet peeves with phones. They should **never** make noise on startup. It's happened to me - your phone spontaneously restarts, it makes that stupid noise.

If you silence the phone before you power off, it should not make a noise on startup. That's the only way that I know of for Droid phones without a permanent root on the phone.

This has annoyed me on phones for as long as I can remember. There should not be a start up noise.

I am trying this in Tasker, but I have a problem. I set up the profile and tasks to boot up in silent but it doesnt work and my profiles and tasks are gone. not sure what is going on, I have Tasker enabled

This will wipe whatever you have setup in tasker. Download, move to tasker folder, then restore using the file- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByufmlN8QKIKc05vRzFIT2lUZE0/view?usp=docslist_api

Nevermind It is working flawlessly now! Thanks for the tip. No more boot up sound.

Another reason Tasker is awesome!
