my 2yr old grandbaby got my samsumg galaxy s4 and set a pin number. Can it be overridden

I was told by verizon they could do a factory reset or after so many attempts to unlock it the phone will automatically reset. My verizon cloud got deleted and I do not want to loose my photos on the phone. How can I override the pin. It is the strangest thing- I can receive phone calls but cannot call (not even 911) or get text. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

Google "Android Device Manager" and follow the steps for unlocking your phone that way
