Greetings and salutations!
My Nexus 7 will no longer boot (gets stuck on "Google" splashscreen) and I've been trying to get along with my Amazon Fire HDX but it simply isn't stable enough and lacks Google Play Store. I can see that Nexus 7s are available used for about $130 but would rather get something new, with solid support, and am willing to spend about $200.
I'm thinking of the nVidia Shield K1 but even that seems a bit long in the tooth and, truthfully, I'm not sure that I'll use it much for gaming so I feel like there should be a better solution.
I'd likely use it to check Facebook, email, and forums while in bed, in the bathroom, or on the couch. Maybe take it on vacation as well.
