My battery gets drain like crazy after adding another sim in my s9+ any reason why?

So I have an s9+ its dual sim. I used to have 1 sim it worked fine. Like 2 months ago I bought another sim and had 2 working. But there was a problem. Whenever I charged my mobile for example 90% after some time battery drained so much that it went to like 49%. I removed the other sim and now I have no problem. What is the reason that mobile battery drains so fast while using a dual sim?

Welcome to Android Central! What's the cell signal for the 2nd SIM's network like? If it's weak, that can cause the phone to work harder to maintain the signal, which can drain battery.

Oh I see. Yes my second sims network is not very strong (getting like 2 bars at max) compared to the first one. And I live in a basement as well.

I've never used dual SIMs before, so I don't know if this is possible, but see if there's a way to turn off only that SIM when you don't need it.

Well I have removed the sim from my mobile. So having no problem. But there should be a fix for that or switching off the particular sim as u said above.
