My biggest frustration with Samsung.

Carriers are probably paying Samsung to put their stuff on or other type of deals to promote or display their phones that Samsung won't ignore.

Just saying Samsung is a giant and could put its foot down with carriers. "We promise these features to our customers so you may not use our product if you disable them".

Yup but you have to respect Apple saying NO. For years VZW wouldn't carry Apple but VZW had to give in. Samsung sold out.

As I recall, Apple went to Verizon first since they were the largest carrier. Verizon balked at Apple's terms because, well, carriers always had the control.

Apple then goes to AT&T, fresh off the purchase of Cingular. AT&T sees the interest in the iPhone (after the success of the iPod) and tells Apple, "sure we'll bend over, stick it wherever you want".

Apple could make whatever demands they wanted because they had a desirable product. All other OEMs had to beg to get carrier sales since they came in long before there was such a demand for one specific device. Carriers had the advantage and still do over any other OEM.
