so you can use the firefox browser no problem without a wifi connection and without a tethering plan?

I believe the dock your talking about uses any wifi your phone connects to or it's normal 3G or 4g network connection. Basically it provides a keyboard, larger screen as well as an additional battery. It does this by having the phone inserted into the dock not connecting to the phone wirelessly.

im telling you man you don't have to have a tethering plan...it uses wfi or your phones data plan but no tethering i have it right now

ndtemple, I take it you have an Atrix? If not, which phone? I wonder if that will be the same when the Bionic is docked with the Lapdock...

i'll be doing that Thursday, but thats probably a little late for most of you lol. I plan on spending no less than $800 in the store so hopefully the first schmuk to ask me what I need gets some sort of commission.

Phone, Lapdock, and will decide on the other accessories on a whim. Debating the extended battery but I need to see the cover and how it looks/feels on the phone and whether it 100% will fit the lapdock, as i'm also considering the wireless charging back cover... so i need to decide when i get there. Probably a regular dock and an HD Dock as well lol.

I have tried, not a single store here in Omaha will even admit they have anything yet, with the exception of the phone itself, and even then will not say how many. I wanted to buy the Lapdock early and they refuse to show it to me, if they have it.

nothing but obviously they wouldn't have let me purchase if i needed a tethering plan...also i asked the associate and he said no its not required but recommended if i planned on using netflix and such a bunch on it that maybe i should get one i was like nah im good plus in the manual that comes with it..it says works via wifi or existing data plan....NO TETHERING SERVICE REQUIRED...nice
