My carrier says that my Samsung Galaxy S10+ is not 4g/Volte capable. What?

I searched online to see how to turn on Volte and I don't have an option under Mobile Networks to turn Volte on/off. What the heck? Is this for real? How do I get this capability? I love this phone and I'm not anywhere close to wanting to change it out. Please help.

VoLTE is often listed as HD calling, or something similar. I would look for that.

You should try contacting your carrier again to find out just what your problem might be. It sounds like whomever you talked to previously is either very misinformed or there was simply just some kind of miscommunication issue.
But whatever the case, your Galaxy S10+ is a very capable model and 4G and VoLTE being well established services with a long history this shouldn't be an unsolvable problem. Unless said carrier is so limited it doesn't support VoLTE (the problem is with the carrier, not your phone) it's probably just a matter of getting a replacement SIM card or resetting the APN settings.

Whos your carrier?
Do you have the unlocked version or carrier version ?your model number should be able to tell

Forgive my ignorance, what does it mean that it's a carrier version?
There slight difference between carrier firmware and unlock , sometimes unlocked dont have all carrier features but not the case with yours .

Your device supports 4g/VOLte maybe your Carrie didn't add that feature to turn on or off

Model number is SM-G075U

I'm guessing the "0" was a typo. The S10+ model number is SM-G975.

The "U" indicates a carrier device for the US market. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc... all have the "U".

A "U1" is factory unlocked for the US market. Of course the carrier models can be unlocked after-the-fact, but it's still a "U".

Still, Consumer Cellular uses both AT&T and T-Mobile towers and networks. AT&T has a list of devices that they will support on their VoLTE service, and both S10+ U and U1 models are on that list. T-Mobile is usually even more accepting of those devices, so why CC is telling you what they did is very strange indeed.

You might want to have a chat with a different rep.

Having the same problem, also with Consumer Cellular. Mine is a s10e and is also on the AT&T list saying it is approved (though indicating it may need a software update). Have spoken to a couple reps who say they can do nothing as it is a Verizon branded phone (unlocked).
Does anyone have any insight into this? Will flashing the firmware with a more recent version help? Or, is it a matter of CC not wanting to help as they did not sell the phone?

Which model number you have?

I think I told them it was Verizon…they knew they didn’t sell it.

If I flash the G970U1 firmware, guess I would still have to use the Verizon version?

Thanks!

G970U1 is unlocked firmware that's not tied to any carrier, all carriers are always on same firmware build and no carrier bloat or splash start up screen

Ok, thanks. On sammobile I see different 970U1s that have carrier/country options. Guessing the carrier options are for the bloatware if you want it.

Use frija firmware tool from xda forums , download it then extract on your pc , you will also need Odin patch B latest version , first time doing this will factory reset so back up and use XAA for region
