My device is 4.4.4 when I try to root it, why do I get an error message?

My device is 4.4.4 when i try to root it says

So when I was looking at videos on how to root my phone,I installed an app to root it and it says " device not compatible " why is that? I've been wanting to root my phone.I have a Zte ZMAX. Running on 4.4.4 please anyone help me.

Try kingoroot app it should work.....
