My droid problems

I am probably not the only one here that is relatively un impressed with smart phones these days. Here is what I want them to do before I get the least bit interested in playing a stupid game called angry birds

1) open my car door
2) get into my gated comunity and my garage
3)control all my audio visuals in the house
4) control my ceiling fans
5) start my car so the a/c is blowing when I get in

These things operate on radio frequencies can this be that hard to do ? I have only had a remote control for my tv for 30 years

With Android@home all this is possible. And with Google TV you can control your entertainment center from your phone.

It is coming, as long as someone writes apps for it.

Yes, all that can in fact be done. There was a guy who wrote an app that allows the phone to open/close the garage door at his home.
