So it doesn't look like ATT is planning on budging on this. Now, the question for me is Atrix or Inspire. I really don't think I can walk away from the Atrix since I've been following it since it was the Olympus.

I'd wait for MWC announcements. See if anything better than the Inspire will be coming to AT&T, which it most certainly will. I expect at least for the HTC Pryamid which is floating around as going to TMobile to eventually head to AT&T. This will be like the Thunderbolt, but with dual core, hdmi ect.

I'm in the same boat as you.. I already figured I'd have to give up my unlimited plan if I got the Atrix (with laptop dock) as soon as I heard about the tethering fee. It's such a shame, Atrix was really going to be a badass phone with the phone itself and its great accessories. But the initial prices + losing my data plan + final prices (long-term extra charge per month for tethering)...steer me away. Inspire isn't that great, and I'd prefer 4" over 4.3" inch, and the battery is ridiculously tiny (1250 mah, wtf), and can't even be replaced by a 3rd party one (again, crap)....so now I don't know what to do!

been sitting on this upgrade for about 3-4 months now. (because I didn't want the Captivate with all of Samsung's notorious problems/issues)

Okie dokie. I posted my comments up there. Now let's see if anything becomes of it. MANY of the comments are saying the same thing, so maybe someone at AT&T will listen. Doubtful, but maybe.

You know what I don't get? No storage on the laptop dock or the multimedia thing. Why can't we boot off an SD card into a distro of Linux? As it stands, this webtop environment is barren at best and even unstable at times if the reviews are any indication..

And... NO multitouch?! The hell? Need an SDHC slot and multitouch trackpad please! ****.. 300 USD might as well get a Tegra 2 wifi only tablet and tether the thing... 6 to 1...
