Just trying to get some opinions on this.... I got an email from our IT guy this morning saying the following:

"This is a product that Microsoft purchased and quickly rebranded, not a ground-up Microsoft app.

Please note that Outlook Mobile has some very serious security problems and should not be used at this time. Most notable that is Outlook stores cached copies of emails in a not particularly secure way in the cloud without freely disclosing this fact.

There are many additional concerns, and security researchers have flagged Outlook Mobile as something that shouldn’t even be out of QA. "

Do they at least give an alternate(s)?

Edit: What device are you using?

I'm using a LG Flex 2.... but I also sometimes use windows phone. It was a generalized email sent to the company, not necessarily to me. But I do use Outlook mobile for my personal email.

I would ask if they have any issues using another client. Gmail can access Outlook.

So... it's true. Outlook is very dangerous app and have really big problem with sercurity. My advice is the same as your IT - you don't use it.
