My FAILED "Night Before Launch" purchase

So I thought if I walked into the Verizon store tonight 10 min before closing, they would sell me a phone. I called and listened to the store hour recording and although it was garbled, I heard "10pm". I waited and left my house to arrive at the store at exactly 9:45pm.

I got out of the car and saw the employees inside hanging out talking. One of the female reps was litrerally dancing around! They were changing the sign in the window and putting up the Samsung Charge sign! WOW!!! YES!! This was a like a freaking VIP party and I was gonna get a phone! I was so sure!

I walked up to the door only to find it...LOCKED! It appears they close at 9pm and I misheard the voice recording. I begged and pleaded for them to sell me a phone, but they said "The computers are offline after 9pm. Sorry. Come back tomorrow"

DAMN!!!

I text my defeat story to my wife (who was home sick tonight...On our anniversary no less) and she suggested going 5 min down the road to Walmart. They are open till 10pm!

I drive like a bat out of hell and run into Walmart. I find the guy in electronics and say "I know you are closing in 10 min, but I need a new phone please!". He says "Sorry, we can only sell phones from 9am to 9pm. The system wont let us sell outside of those hours, and we are closing soon anyway.

DOUBLE DAMN IT!!!!!

Tomorrow I have a 9am and 11am appointment for estimates for work on my house. LIkely wont get to the store till noon! ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Although that sucks, it is true. I got my Fascinate just before leaving for work and didn't have time to activate it. Figured, no problem, I'll do it when I get home (~11:30P). Got home and tried to activate it, and couldn't do so, had to wait until the next day. Seems stupid, but it's there.
