Hello to remaining D1ers. These boards are getting a lot less attention these days!

I for one will be sticking with D1 for at least a year. And i still love it. Congrats to those that move up. You will be missed.

I'm staying. I like stock android and with my overclock running at 1.2 ghz it flies and outscores all of the latest phones in a quadrant score :)

They just split us up is all. I have no reason to switch, esp. now with 2.2. Like a new phone again. Tho' with Smart Keyboard now, I don't need the hardware one anymore...but short of prying it off, I'll stick with what I have.

i checked out the D2 in the store and it was WAY too similar to warrant a second look for an upgrade. My phone is running great! And with swype on board, i just don't see the point.

But I'm glad a bunch of new users will get some android goodness with the D2

I used my update while ago on a BB, then made the conversion to a Droid i got my hands on, now im not do for an upgrade until 2012, so im sticking it out with my Droid until then.

Personally i didnt care for the D2. the improved keyboard was nice but felt and i thought looked cheap. and the case is plastic, i like the feeling of my Droid much better than with the D2.

I am finding it hard not upgrading to the X, The D2 just doesn't do it for me, dont get me wrong it looks like a nice phone but not far off from the D1, the bigger screen on the X and no slide out keyboard is a plus because I never use it.
I am going to try and see what comes out with the LTE but I dont know if I will make it

Not sure what you mean by a stock droid 1 running that fast. Is this just a speed change with no hack, if so i would be interested

I think he meant using stock android 2.2 instead of a skinned version like SenseUI, blur-esque or touchwiz. You still need to be rooted to overclock but apparently you can now get up to 800MHz with the stock kernel.

Mine is running great. Just found out I can overclock with just root now on 2.2. So its almost like a new phone!

idk guys. ive had my droid since november and i must say that im getting that feeling of upgrading soon. i cant do an early upgrade until november but if the right phones comes out i and i get my pay off everything on my credit card, who know what i might do??? i think i still might just wait till verizon launches a phone with gingerbread or the droid pro. whichever comes first.

Think I'm waiting til LTE. The Droid Pro is apparently just a Droid 2 World Edition and the supposed "superphone" keeps getting pushed back. Have an upgrade available now but not seeing anything worth the jump. As long as I quit dropping my Droid, I should be ok.

Same here. Have one line on my family plan to upgrade, but I'm waiting for something better. The Fascinate might be hard to resist, that SAMOLED screen is gorgeous, nut I'll probably wait till next January when that super phone drops (hopefully).

Don't get sucked in by the screen, all you have to do is look at Samsung's record for upgrading their devices to see the Fascenate's future... it will get Froyo (but probably later than the other Galaxy S phones) and probably Gingerbread, but probably not Honeycomb or anything after that... Stick with Moto and HTC who actually upgrade (most of) their devices...

Well I'm keeping my Droid 1 only because I'm locked in with Verizon. Or else I would love to upgrade to Droid 2 or Droid X. But I understand it's worth it to wait for my upgrade point with Verizon which is July 2011.

Just imagine what kind of Android phones will be out next summer! I'll hold on to my Droid 1 until Summer 2011. I'm happy with it.

The only thing I don't like is the small amount of on-board memory which makes me have to watch how much apps I install. I would love to have the 8GB that most android phones are getting!

I'm waiting on a newer phone. Something with vanilla android or Sense UI. I'm hating MotoBlur and TouchWiz.

Froyo allows you to install some apps to the SD card. Not all can do it, but at least this way you'd have more room for more apps.
