My first S24Ultra complaint...

Oh the jump in vividness from the S22U to the S24U will be huge! I have all three sitting right in front of me! The S23U in vivid mode with the red, blue, and green sliders set all the way down was perfect to me. I don't like too much over saturation but I also don't like a color display that looks like a CRT with the capacitors in their way out either.

These phone displays should have the same color adjustments as TVs IMO. I use a LG Oled TV and the color and contrast on it is perfection, but after painstaking adjustments. I've always hated getting a new display because they never look rigjt to me out if the box.
Maybe I'm weird but I also think tvs should have a quick setting for brightness. I would like a quick option to tone down the blaring tv display brightness late at night

Just a few mins into setting the phone up and already don't like the gestures. They're terrible.

Yeah just setup everything, and display definitely feels more washed out compared to S23 ultra. I think after few days we will get used to it

I have seen the same complaints from many people on Reddit

Ok played around a bit. If you like little vibrant colors, then turning off adaptive color tone in display will help to some extent.

"More natural" will by definition be not as "vivid" and seem "washed out."

Samsung displays have always tended to be over saturated. It has conditioned us to expect vivid displays. It is a way of ensuring your focus is on your phone and not the real-life stuff around you. We live in an Instagram world where the food people post, looks so appealing and colorful.

The reality is quite different.

Yea I already am kinda getting used to it. I go back and look at my S23 and it's kinda looking oversaturated lol.

Okay after looking at my old phone I can even notice the difference in what I'd describe as "fog", it's not horrible but I notice it. Feels a little flat or something...and this is coming from the S20. Display is nice though.

Honestly, there's enough little flaws in 6.1 that it feels like a beta lol. I think there were actually more changes from 6 to 6.1 than 5.1 to 6.
It absolutely is beta in this form. It's absurd they would ship the phone this way. AOD sucks big time. The colors are orange and on the S23 Ultra, the icons were their respective colors and the clock was white. Now you can change the colors on AOD but ALL of the colors on the clock and icons must be the same....orange or blue or white. It's so ridiculous! The icons are also mini sized on AOD. Also, the icon sizes are different in the folder on the main screen. I have them set up smaller through Goodlock and when swiping to the right, they're big. No consistency at all. This phone should not have been shipped in its current form.

I only hope they get a software update to fix these issues but when we'll get it, who knows? Korea already got theirs. USA hasn't.

Colors are definitely too muted. No more full screen I guess, there is constant bar at the bottom....why? The keyboard doesn't have Voice Input mic

Display seems so dull like vivid mode isn't doing anything. I've noticed that every year the displays have been getting duller and duller. I don't even want overly vivid screens as on my S23Ultra I did put it in vivid mode however I would then go to advanced and lower the red, blue, and green sliders all the way to tone it down to in between default vivid and non vivid mode..

Second complaint, did smart switch and past phones I didn't have to press OK after typing in my pin to unlock now I do?

Third complaint, the clock on the lock screen is an ugly green instead of white now??

Hopefully I can fix a couple of these complaints in the settings and hopefully an update can make the colors on the display a tad more vivid.
The clock color on the lock screen can be changed in the edit lock screen section. You can change the font and color. You can set it to white. It's normally set to adapted from wallpaper.

Yes but it changes all of the icons the same color as the clock. It's ridiculous. Any icons I get from fb messenger are white....so are my Google messages. This phone has a lot more bugs than I remember others having.

That may just be the way OneUI 6.1 is, and not a bug.

It's on the left at the bottom on mine.
Are you using gestures or the nav bar? if you're using the nav bar, you may not realise just how jarring it is to have this huge bar pop up just for voice typing and push your keyboard awkwardly up the screen. Awful UI design.

Color looks good on my S24 Ultra. I did a side by side comparison with the S22 Ultra and they looked similar.
