I am not comparing them, but simply rambling about my experience.

I love the Rezound. It has great specs and stuff, but I am still broken between the two.

Galaxy Nexus:
Good:
You get updated directly from Google.
That phone is my PERFECT size and thickness.
I love ICS and don't really wanna wait.
Bootloader unlockable
Bad:
Samsung. Don't hate me for it, its just me.
Cheap, plastic
No SD card slot

HTC Rezound
Good:
Beats Earbuds. Probably wouldnt use them, but could sell them.
ICS upgradeable
Made by HTC (same as Samsung thing)
SD card slot
Bad:
no nfc
ICS upgrade could go as badly as the Droid X and Droid Incredible upgrade to GB went.
not yet unlocked
Both Good and Bad:
Sense (love it, sooo huge though.)

There are a lot of similarities too.

Opinions? Questions? Whatever?

Oh, and I thought of a question:

In ICS, will there be Sense, and will it be 3.5, or 4.0, or ...?

I kinda hope for it and kinda want it out, but we will see, and there is always root, if they ever get that bootloader unlocked.

Just because a phone is plastic doesn't mean its cheap just saying, I have a 1200 dollar laptop that's plastic and its of the highest quality. This phone will survive a drop better than any iPhone will I can tell you that. I'm just tired of people saying it feels cheap. Your car has plastic inside do that makes it cheap? No. I have a Samsung plasma hd TV that I paid a couple thousand for and it has plastic around the bezel so its cheap? No.

The nexus doesn't feel cheap guys.

a $200 tv also has plastic... And it IS cheap hehe.

When i came from motorola, my rezound felt cheap to me. It now feels great to me, so i guess going from different brands, cause people to think that.

Rezound, razor, or nexus, just pick the one you like best and dont worry about the other two.

Cheers

Played with the Nexus for a good 30 minutes yesterday, absolute garbage in almost every aspect. Typical cheap Samsung quality with crappy pentile AMOLED screen. Phone was overheating, call quality sucks, slower to respond than my Rezound.

Glad I didn't wait.

I visited the VZW store the first day the Nexus was released to exchange a defective car charger. I thought ICS was excellent, but I wasn't blown away by the phone. I'd rather have my Rezound with ICS than the Nexus with ICS. No microSD and the extended life battery sucks. That totally killed the Nexus for me.

Didnt they take NFC out of the Galaxy Nexus? Even if they left it in, I assume it will probably be bug ridden and less than usable...most new tech is until it matures.

Also...why is "bootloader unlockable" a bad thing?

I have mixed feelings about Sense...I dislike it the least of all the Vendor UIs, but at the same time, it is offensive to me that HTC wont allow me to turn it off without jumping through various hoops. I dont like being forced to use it.

The best thing I can say about sense is "Well it could be worse...you could have Touchwiz or even Motoblur".

No nfc is still here and works like a charm

Oh sorry, the bootloader thing was supposed to be in the good section.
I agree about Sense, love it, I do, but it is very "heavy" if you know what I mean. I am afraid of lag on the phone...played with one yesterday before posting this and felt much more laggy than the nexus but liked the feel and stuff much better.

I had the Galaxy Nexus for 6 days before I returned it for the Rezound. Main reason was I didn't get 4g at home and work, both places I should have 4g. Also, 3g dropped off in so many places where my Incredible had it for 2 years. Basically, it had major signal issues and MANY are reporting the same issues with the Nexus. Here are my pros and cons:

Galaxy Nexus. Pros:
ICS. Quicker updates. Unlocked / No bloat. No camera shutter lag (although I have a disclaimer in the cons on this).

Cons: Weak signal strength. ICS soft buttons take up screen space unless watching video, etc. Buggy: weak signal, camera quit working sometimes, random shutdowns (not restarts). 5.0mp camera didn't take better pictures than my Incredible. Camera software was basic. Fast shutter was nice, but autofocus can't keep up, so you just end up with a bunch of out of focus photos. Screen definitely isn't as crisp and vibrant as Rezound. No SD.

Rezound. Pros:
Beautiful screen. SD card. Strong radio / signal, I'm getting 4g everywhere I should and 3g everywhere else. 8mp camera is awesome, offering scenes (like Macro, portrait, lowlight) and effects (vignette, depth of field, etc). The photos are far better from the Rezound than the Nexus. Sense offers some nice functionality, like the lock screen customization. And with the beautiful screen, you can really show off the tons of widgets and animations.

Cons: No ICS. Updates will be few and far between, and maybe messed up. Bloatware (for now).

My opinions of course. Aside from the signal strength that is, it was a fact in my case and you can find plenty of others reporting the same issues.

Feel is very subjective. What feels "cheap" to one person may not feel "cheap" so someone else.

Agreed - I was an AT&T customer before switching to Verizon and the Rezound. I just did not like the way the GS2 felt - just too cheap feeling to me. Also too flat for my liking. I did like the Skyrocket. Not a lot of difference but it just felt more solid to me. On the other had the HTC Vivid just felt kind of weird to hold.

I originally had planned to by a Razor, but after reading several reviews and trying out both phones I found I liked the Rezound better. Just felt much better in my hand.

I also like to use cases for my phones so thinkness does become somewhat less of on issue to me - most of the chases I like add quite a bit a thickness to any phone.

Anyone that is concerned about the feel of a phone should really try out the phones and make their own determination on what works for them.
