my galaxy s8 active froze up and continued to do nothig but vibarate

the galaxy s8 active froze up and did nothing but vibrate. I could not turn it off or get it to do anything.... I used someone else's phone and goggled it and android central to me to hold the volume and the on and off switch down for 20 seconds and it finally opened up. do I need to take it in and get it checked out.
