My Honest Take On The Charge Vs Thunderbolt Debate...Now That I Also Have A Charge

In the world of manufacturing it can make a difference sometimes.

We wont talk about how I know this.

I would really hope that someone in manufacturing would not rely on AOL or Hotmail email as their primary email address. As someone else said email routed through Exchange is instantaneous not almost instantaneous but instantaneous on the Thunderbolt. If you are with a large manufacturing company I would guess they have an Exchange server.

People think they're more important than they are. Get over it. You don't need email .03 seconds after it's sent. Chill out.

Not everybody is the same. Some people NEED email that fast...because it says that it's reliable. If it doesn't come through it'll become known as unreliable. In some people's business they can't have unreliable email. So knowing that EAS is instantaneous and reliable is important.

Anyway, we should stop talking about email and get back on topic.

Well I guess the Charge would have absolutely no benefit for me then since I simply have 2 Gmail accounts and my work email through Exchange, which as someone else said earlier, HTC does the best.
Android is not yet as well integrated with Exchange as the old Windows Mobile system was. As one would expect, of course. I don't know anything about the new Windows Phone, and don't really care to find out, at least not until we see if it ever catches up all the ground it lost in the past couple of years.

I guess the topic is how the Charge is better than the Thunderbolt, especially when it come to push email.

If someone does rely heavily on instantaneously email, they should consider getting either gmail on their Android phone, or maybe a BlackBerry which offer BIS push email.

I just can't imagine why anyone that would need to get email in real time would rely on a cell phone.

Haha did you read your own review? After reading it, it seems like your 90% in favor of the tbolt, and think the email client is faster on the Charge, I gotta tell you though, my emails are literally near instant on my Bolt, honestly my gmail sometimes shows up on my phone before it shows up on my computer even when I'm hitting refresh... My exchange account is also pushed and is nearly instant.

Nothing would bother me more than a laggy interface, and the bolt is the fastest interface I've ever used on a phone hands down. Sense is great, especially when I lay launcher pro over it which imo has better widgets the only thing I miss is the clock because I haven't found one that is as good looking as the sense clock but everything else is so far superior that it's just worth it.

Enjoy whichever you choose, oh and the battery life is probably a little better because as I recall the charge comes with a bit bigger stock battery :)

I have the TB now and that does not hold true for me. I sometimes dont get my Gmail until a day after I have had them on my PC. I think its hit or miss with this phone. Mine is a miss. I will be going for a charge. I may even cancel because I also know that we wont see gingerbread till Ice cream sandwich is out and worked out all the bugs.

This isn't a Fascinate. Lets not forget Googles own branded handsets are Samsung. The Charge really blows the TB away when it comes to pushing e mail its so fast as fast as the TB pushes GMail.

It is irrelevant to me.
Samsung boinked up the Fascinate hardware and software on many levels. I don't trust them for any products right now.
My push email (Exchange and Gmail) is virtually instantaneous as far as I can tell. There would be zero measurable difference between devices. So you have a setting wrong on your TB, or you have a bad TB.
Get your TB set up properly or repaired, then make the comparison.

And What's different about an AOL Email account Vs a Yahoo email account or a Hotmail account? What is dfifferent I would like to know? So I still get my mail either way no?

The droid charge will get premium updates being a droid. It is a very nice device. So is the TB. Opinion away forum folk, opinion away!

My thoughts exactly. The Charge will not be left to rot like other Samsung devices (Fascinate) have been in the past. I would take the Charge over the TB anyday, because IN MY OPINION, it has better offerings for what I want in a mobile device. But what I want/like is not what others want/like. To me, the TB is a brick, and feels like a brick in my pocket and in my hand, and I could not care less about a kickstand. I prefer the lightweight, slim Samsung design on my Fascinate, as well as the screen on all Sammys. And I don't care about Sense vs. TouchWiz, I would get rid of either one in favor of Launcher Pro or another launcher anyway. And if someone decides to root, any one of these devices is pretty kick-a$$, and blows away most other devices on the market.

The lg revolution is a good device, I agree. But one of the few down sides the revolution is that there isn't a large group of people on the forum that own it.

its got bing! its not bad really, i really liked it too but bing was an instant turn off and i wasnt sold on the launcher

Oh no I just couldn't deal with a Bingd Android handset. Can't they just keep Bing on the WinMobile handsets? Why poison Android with it??

And that, my friend, is a question every Tech rep has been plagued by for years... Microsoft pays better than Google is the best guess I've come up with...

I think Bing'd Android phones will be a thing of the past now that they are partnering with RIM, and possibly buying RIM.

It will be Apple v Microsoft v Google.

I hate Bing. I used to use VZ Navigator and it was the best GPS and POI search app. Then the app was changed and POI searches are now provided by Bing. It is terrible! Before Bing, I could search vegetarian restaurants all over the county and get result, where Bing provides a list of all Mexican restaurant and no vegetarian. Other POIs are completely missing in the Bing search results. I cancelled my beloved VZ Navigator, after having it for 6 years. It was Binged to death for me. This was on my BlackBerry.

Don't make me say what Bing can go do. I don't want another mod warning. :)
