My HTC One M8 shut off and won't turn back on. What should I do?

My HTC One M8 shut off and won't turn back on. HELP!

This phone has been a great phone. I haven;t had any issues until a few days ago when it just randomly shut off and will not turn back on. I have tried the battery reset by holding the power button and the volume button. Nothing happened.

I have plugged it into the charger and it doesn't do anything. The red charging light doesn't even come on. I have plugged in into the computer and it doesn't show any device.

Please help! I just got back from vacation and all my photos are on there. I would like my contacts too but more my photos.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a bit worrisome. It could be that the battery failed, or worse yet, something on the motherboard.

Hold volume down for 5 seconds then push and hold power. You will boot into boot loader. Volume down to select reboot then power to select.
