Hello everyone,

I've had my HTC One m8 for a few weeks now, love it by the way, and just today I noticed that the headset indicator in my title bar is there and when I tried to make a call I couldn't hear anything unless I put it on speaker.

Has anyone heard of this issue and maybe how to fix it? I've already cleaned the aux port, rebooted my phone several times, and I just got done doing a full reset. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Try cleaning out the headphone jack. Something could be in there, causing it to think it's plugged in.

Did you reboot properly, either by rebooting with fastboot disabled or by powering off for a few seconds?

Try plugging in headphones and then unplug them. Try it a few times if it doesn't work the first time. Hope it helps.

I tried the factory reset the other day, but it still doesn't work. I'm likely gonna go in to the store to get it replaced.

I had the same problem. To be totally sure, use the "HTC Guide"app and access phone diagnostics. Also you'll know for sure because in Settings it will allow you to toggle HTC Boom sound normally only possible with headphones inserted.

You have a 30 day Early Life Failure (ELF) replacement option so ring HTC customer service in your region ASAP and log it. With the app mentioned above can even arrange for a tech to remotely interrogate your phone to verify ELF and expedite replacement.

I am a VzW rep and had a similar issue with a customers G2. Update all apps on the play store. Sounds weird but their was a conflict that the updates fixed it!

shut phone,, take a qutip, dip in rubbing alcohol, squeeze out any excess off the qutip,, insert into headphones jack and turn A few times,,, allow to dry for 5 mins (just in case) and turn on

If anybody has that problem, I fixed it by connecting my phone to a bluetooth speaker. When I turned my bluetooth off it was fixed.
