my micro sd card was inserted properly, but phone will not mount

The sim card that came with my Motorola e phone mounts properly. I inserted my purchased microSD card per the diagram and it clicked in. However, when I go to the settings, I find the phone will not recognize the card. The category Mount SD card is greyed out. How can I get this working?

Try it in another phone, if it doesn't work the SD is at fault. If it does then I'm not sure what to do but try take it out and put it back in. If you didn't unmount the old SD that might have caused problems.
