My Moto X (1st gen) screen went black, how can I fix it?

My Moto X (1st gen) screen went black

The screen on my phone went black. The only part of the screen that works is the notification screen with the time. I receive calls and texts still but the screen is still black when i try to answer them. It still vibrates when i try to unlock it but nothing else happens. Ive turned it on and off multiple times and it still boots up to a blank screen.

If that doesn't work I would factory reset

He should be able to see the recovery screens if he can see active notifications. If your screen is dead, then your only option is to use ADB via PC
