I bought a new Unlocked US version Galaxy S10+ from Amazon, Prism Black, 128 GB, model SMG975UZKAXAA; this is the model listed on the outside of the box. The kicker in all of this is that I bought it from a third party merchant that had a lot of feedback and 98% positive or so (my fault taking a risk to save a little on tax). Because of this being from a third party merchant (fulfilled by Amazon, not that that means anything), I am suspicious about this phone being open because of a few things.
First, the seal sticker looks like it could have possibly been carefully lifted and put back in place. I couldn't have said for sure, but it looked a little iffy. There was also a piece of Scotch tape on the other side, and that didn't seem normal.
This phone comes with no documentation. It comes with the box that normally has documentation in all of the unboxing videos I've seen, but inside of the box is a clear case. On the back of the box with the case is listed:
"SM-G9750
GH90-59617A"
I don't know know if this indicates a completely different model from what is listed on the outer box?
While the phone comes with a charger that works in the US, the cutout for the charger is in the shape of an international charger, and the included charger does not fit. I looked at unboxing videos for international versions and sure enough the cutout in my box is for the international charger.
As I was typing this I turned on the phone to look at the model in the status screen. The model is listed as SM-G9750. I just looked this up and it is an international version sold in China. Well, I guess that is the smoking gun here. I'll go ahead and post this anyway just as a cautionary tale for those who may be thinking to save a few bucks by not purchasing directly from a trusted retailer.
