My Note 8 will not turn on

since you still have the phone, try and go.. settings - apps - system apps and delete data in USB
Just did that we'll see what it does. I was going to call the local store here in a little bit just in the off chance they might do an in store warranty Exchange
 
When you factory reset a phone wouldn't this information be deleted during the factory reset

yes I would imagine it would, but if the error came back after it might still work as a temporary fix to avoid having to restart to charge, at least until they fix it or give you a new one

Have to wait for Tmobile to ship the warranty phone to the local store. They don't do walk in and exchange right there. Too bad . It's working right now but I haven't tried to charge it again yet since I deleted the files under Usb system app.
 
Replacement phone has shipped but I don't have tracking info yet. This Note did charge the last time I tried it so that's good. Hoping the replacement gets to my store soon though.
 
J_Hansen: when you got your replacement Note, was it new or refurbished, and did you set it up as new, or have it reinstall a backup from the old phone? I'm debating how to set it up when it arrives.
 
I didn't get a new phone, they were supposed to replace the charging port but on the docket it just said software upgrade, so I think they just reflashed it

Oh ok. Tmobile is shipping a replacement now. It may arrive tomorrow would would be great. I turn mine in at the store the replacement was shipped to.
 
initially I just started a bit of manual setting up but the other day when it got the January update I used smart switch to replicate as much as possible from my current daily driver single sim one, I want to go back to the dual sim one to sell the single sim when the note 9 comes out
 
Since I have a Note going to a Note I probably will smart switch a few things in store, since I have to turn in this one when I pickup the replacement. Hoping it arrives tomorrow. Funny this one twice now has charged ok without the error but given the type of issue the other day along with the other quirks and fact that Samsung admitted to the port issue, taking a replacement is good.
 
Noticed my Fast Charging is gone - only does regular charging now, no matter the cord used. Replacement will either deliver tomorrow or the next day to my local store - waiting patiently. Still works just .. the quirks.
