my pc does not recognize my phone

I have a samsung galaxy s3 and my pc does not recognize it on my pc I have windows 8, who can help me solve this problem

Try wiggling/holding/fidgeting with the USB cord. That was my problem. If mine is off by a little or I bump it, it loses connection.
