My phone at the lock screen will not let me take off the pin and use the swipe to unlock

When I go to take the pin off of the lock screen it is saying that I can't just use the swipe to unlock my phone because it's encrypted so how do I fix that. I want to take the encryption off so I can use just the swipe to open my phone but it won't let me

Welcome to Android Central. It would be helpful to know which device, OS version you are using. Once you are signed in to the device you would remove the encryption with the same process used to encrypt it. I would have to assume, if the device won't let you change settings, that you aren't properly signed in.

Also, why is the phone encrypted? If this was a company issued device, I would assume they locked you out and the encryption settings are locked, meaning you cannot modify them.
