My phone got wet and everything works except the screen not showing anything, why is that..?

my phone got wet and evrything works except the screen not showing anything why is that...?

I went to a water park and had my phone it got splashed with a little amount of water and was still working I was able to see my screen text make phone calls, then after it just shut off but my phone continued to vibrate and I was able to answer calls only thing was that nothing appeared on the screen, I could hear the person that I was talking to clearly ...is my phone damaged or will it be able to work again...?
