My phone keeps shutting off. HELP!!!

Before rooting with Supersu my phone was doing this. It still does this since rooting. How can I find out what is causing this? I'm assuming its an app, but not sure. I downloaded a cat log app but I haven't a clue how to read or use it.

First step, delete any apps you don't need or use on a regular basis. For example, if you use it less then once a week you can probably ditch it temporarily.
Second step, start keeping track of when it shuts off. What are you doing when it does shut off? Do you have multiple apps open? are you working the phone pretty hard (playing a game or watching YouTube a lot?). Does it happen on WiFi, or off the cell network? Any clues you can put together will help us help you.
Third, how's your battery life? Has it suddenly gotten worse since this shutdown issue popped up, or is it pretty close to the same?

I'm sure others will have more input, but if you can start keeping track of what's happening just before it shuts down, see if you can figure out some common things... and hopefully from that someone can help you out!

Awesome starting point for me, thank you. Moving forward I'll being tracking what's going on it more detail. I can say that battery usage is the same, which is actually really good.

I thought is was an app called Kik I use sometimes. It almost always shuts off when using that app or while it's installed on. Once deleted, it shuts off a lot less, but still shuts off.

Do you remember when the issue started happening? If so, try and pinpoint an app installation around that time and delete that app. If you can't, consider a factory reset/wipe cache and re-install apps one at a time to see f the problem restarts after a particular app installation.
