My Play Lists and Ringtone won't stick

I have all my music on the external sd card. Is that the reason the playlists that I create in Music Player dissappear? The titles of the lists stay, but the songs go away. Also, when I set music tracks as personalized ringtones for various contacts, they too disappear and I get just one ringtone for all calls. That ringtone is in media/audio/ringtones, which is on the internal card. I'm not sure when the disappearing act happens...maybe after each reboot.

so the only idea i have is for you to check the file type. mine was using an mp3

Sure it works....for now and yours may work always. I've had the playlists stay put for days, then later...gone.

Yes, mine are all mp3.

I'm having the same problems with ringtones. Main ringtone is fine and notification tone are fine. The contact ringtones & notification tones change. Notification tones change to numbers sometimes so when I get a text it just vibrates. I don't know when or why that happens.
