Two months of waiting have finally paid off, the red Sony Xperia ZL has finally arrived! I haven't even booted it up yet but wanted to get some pics up as I think this phone in red is absolutely gorgeous. The back is plastic but it looks more like anodized aluminium thanks to the metallic red paint job. Stunning. That notification LED is a thing of beauty as well, especially after playing with the HTC One for three days and dealing with it's limited two color LED. It's a little thicker than the One but feels great in the hand due to the shape, and is a little shorter even though it has the 5" screen (of course no boomsound front facing speakers). Anyway enjoy the pics!

Woo!!! Congrats on finally getting your ZL! That red really looks beautiful.

Hopefully you read on how to set it up so your notification light works, wouldn't want you to set it up twice.

Looks really good, the red that Sony uses is pretty. I'm probably going to be picking one up in the near future. Sony designs are looking great in 2013.

I totally forgot about the LED until a few hours ago when I tried to setup Light Flow :( The only way to fix it is a factory reset, right? Damn. Other than that I'm really liking the Sony UI, they got so many little things right that HTC (and Android handsets) could learn from.

Yeah you'll have to do a factory reset unfortunately. Good thing though is that you can use the Sony backup app and back most of the stuff you loaded on it! That'll save you some time at least.

Yup, got it done and Light Flow is working beautifully :) I've added notifications that normally I don't care that much about just to have the LED fire more often, it looks that good.

Cool deal! Yeah I love the LED notification on this phone, it is just beautiful.

hello, im searching for this phone from 2-3weeks but i couldn't find it on my country, the one im looking for is C6503 so it can work with my cellular here, im from dubai , united arab emirates

so if there is any online shop or anything that u guys know about please help!

How do you set the LED up and get it work with all different notifications? I am ordering one of these today! It works with AT&T right?

Just ordered a red one with my corp discount (BofA). Cant wait to get it and set it up!

Yes, it works with AT&T (2G, 3G HSPA and 4G LTE). The easiest way to get the notification LED to do what you want is to use Light Flow (available in the Play store). It is a fantastic app and gives you total control of the LED (what notifications will light the LED, what color for each notification, the blink speed, etc.). It even will apply sound profiles. But, if you don't want to use an app you can do some limited LED notification control from within the apps themselves that support it (i.e. some apps will have a setting that lets you turn on/off LED notification, a few even let you chose from a few colors). However those apps are the exception rather than the rule, so that's why I use Light Flow :)

Why do you have to set it up when you first get the device? I will DL Lightflow when I get it(tuesday is the ETA)

That is a gorgeous looking device. Thanks for sharing!

Just got the ZL yesterday. Very impressed with it, so far. The lack of bezel is really nice. It feels like a smaller phone than it is. Build quality is excellent, and the notification light is beautiful. I know a lot of people talk about how elegant the HTC One is, but I think Sony has them beat here. To me, the ZL is the sleeper phone of 2013.
