my samsung android phone uses more battery in the country than in the city

when i am at an rv resort in the country, my samsung adroid phones battery discharges much faster than when i am in an urban area. the phone service in the country is very bad with me only getting maybe one or two bars. is the battery usage due to roaming?

Signal is lower and phone uses more battery to get signal. usual thing I see in low signal places

If you are getting worse signal than you normally do then yes it's normal to see more battery drain. Your antenna is using more power to search and hold on to that signal.

What they said. You can use an app like juice defender to turn off the mobile data, only enabling it occasionally,to improve battery life in this situation
