My Samsung Galaxy Alpha is downloading a software update and it's taking forever. Is this normal??

What phone and what update was it? If it was a major OS update it can take an hour or longer to download and install.

Happened to me last night. Yes, it takes a loooong time. It's the Android Lollipop update. You can use the phone during the download, but not during the update (best I can tell, anyway).
NOTE: When it reboots and seems to freeze on the carrier logo (I assume you're on AT&T like everyone else who's getting the update on their Alpha right now), don't panic...just let it go for a long while (fix a snack and take out the trash!). It's not frozen, but there's no indicator.
Lastly, there are several little resets and downloads and stuff that'll happen AFTER the main download.
