My samsung galaxy s3 doesn't have "network mode" option

I can't download text images for some reason. I was told that turning on 4G could solve this. But all I have in my "mobile networks" is mobile data, data roaming, access point names and network operators. I've tried at least a handful of other things that didn't work and it seems like this is the only one that I can't do, so maybe it'll actually be the solution if I can figure it out.

4G is mobile data - if your carrier has 4G in your area. Otherwise it's 3G, which is the same but slower. Just turn mobile data on. (If that doesn't work, bring th phone to the carrier and ask them to check your APN - if that's set wrong, it won't work either, even if there's one extra space in one line.)

I already turned mobile data on, that was on of the first solutions I tried. I guess I'll have to take it in to them. I just got this phone too.

I've got the same problem going on. I'm not network illiterate but this thing is pressing my last nerve. Updating software now and going from there. Any further suggestions would be helpful. I'm running a Samsung S3 on Straight Talk. This is my wife's phone mine is set and running 4g LTE fine. I just can't remember the hoops I had to jump through to get it that way. Help please!
